We would like to thank you for your support. McCreary County has a rich history with impressive landmarks and historical items of interest to the public at large. The mission of McCreary County Museum is to collect, preserve, and protect artifacts which reveal the heritage of the people of Downtown Stearns as well as McCreary County. Without donors like you, our mission wouldn’t be possible.

Your generous donations allow us to continue to maintain the building, create new and rotating exhibits, organize, archive historic documents, and sponsor events and activities within our community in support of local artisans.

The Museum is filled with historic documents, objects, and photographs pertaining to Historic Stearns and McCreary County, including exhibits that demonstrate the culture and lifestyle of McCreary Countians over the years. Our Museum overlooks the town of Stearns which features the Big South Fork Scenic Railway and local craft and gift shops.
